Neopets
-
I personally have to give the No. 1 spot to Neopets. I was completely obsessed with it until I was well into high school. I knew so many little easter eggs and hacks (Jelly World, hello?), and I was utterly committed to all of my dailies. My only real gripes with the game are from after they started updating it; it really turned me off when all of the pets and their designs lost some of their unique character in favor of uniform bases on which to put clothing, for example. However, the site ended up updating their home decoration feature at some point, which was really exciting. If you played in the early 2000s, you'll know that NeoHomes were aerial-view only.

Doll Divine
-
DollDivine had (actually, HAS – it's still around) some of the best digital doll makers around. Seriously, some of the games made exclusively for the website were so incredibly detailed and niche. Where else could you create a scene from Game of Thrones, dress a historically-accurate viking woman, and coordinate an outfit for a cute goth girl? Seriously, check it out because it's still up.

DisneyChannel.com (Pictured: The Suit Life of Zach and Cody's "Tipton Trouble" game)

Disney Channel had no right having such amazing games; they were seriously addicting and actually relatively difficult. I remember making my mom play Lilo and Stitch's “625 Sandwich Stacker,” and she totally flopped. And my mom was pretty good at Flash games; she made me a lot of bank on Neopets. Other notable games included, “Kim Possible: A Stitch in Time” and “Bueno Rufus.”

Coolmath-Games.com
-
This site has made it in the top 5 because it was one of the only websites we were allowed to play on in computer science class… You know, after we were done learning about Excel sheets or making weird pamphlets in Microsoft Word. It was educational, but it was sure fun.

05
MINICLIP.COM
-
MiniClip is where I would go to play Bloons and Bloons Tower Defence, so it has a very special place in my heart.
-

CartoonNetwork.com (Pictured: Teen Titans Battle Blitz)
-
Cartoon Network had some pretty good games! I especially loved this Teen Titans game. I wasn't actually allowed to watch Ed, Edd, and Eddy, but their “Kick the Can” game was also super fun.

07
DressUpGames.com
-
As a kid, this was my go-to dress up games website. It was mostly a collection of links that would take you to other sites, but the games were perfectly curated. My favorite games seem to be lost to the ether, however. I recall a genre of games where you could decorate homes, hospitals, or other rooms with pixelated funriture and little animated sprites. I've never actually been able to find any sort of screenshot that resembles this gaming experience. They were called “scenes.” If anyone out there knows what I'm talking about, leave a comment!

Barbie.com
-
Okay, so a lot of the games on the Barbie website weren't particularly engaging or difficult, but it's up there for nostalgia factor alone. “Barbie: Pet Dance?" “Color with Kelly?" “Let's Babysit Krissy?” C'mon. Classics.

09
myscene.com (Pictured: Dazzling Nails)
-
In my mind, anything myscene is always a little below Barbie, the OG doll. Still, the website had some amazing games.

I have no idea how child-me ended up on the Highlights Kids website because, as far as I am aware, I did not read any of the magazines. However, it was weirdly fun. You could practically taste the almond butter and organic Panda Puffs through the screen, but it did the trick when I was bored.

Webkinz
-
How could Webkins possibly be so low? It had much better graphics than Neopets, for example. You walk around your own home, which was a huge plus, and tons of memorable games that still hold up. However, in my mind, it gets knocked down by a lot simply for requiring the purchase of a plushie. Something about that feels evil to me even now.

12
Club Penguin
-
I know some of you will see red with how low I put Club Penguin. But listen, I just never got into it. Most people I knew that played the game had paid memberships, and my parents refused to contribute to my online gaming. Thus, the only time I ever really got to play was at sleepovers, and we mostly used it to talk to BOYS!
-
13
Games2Girls
-
Sometimes I ended up on this website when I had exhausted all of my options on Dressupgames.com, but the games on this site were lesser. They weren't as exquisitely curated, but they did the job.
-
14
AddictingGames.com
-
I actually preferred this one over MiniClip, but it's this far down because it had way too many questionable games that were absolutely not age-appropriate! But “Avalanche” was awesome.
-
15
PollyPocket.com (Pictured: Polly's Hair Stylin' Salon)
-
Out of all the doll websites, Polly Pocket had the least memorable games.

-
Again, I will likely offend many by putting ToonTown so low, but it was too slapstick-y for me. I think I only ever played it to impress middle school boys, but I can't say I actually enjoyed it.

Gaia Online
-
I loved Gaia Online, but looking back, I should not have been allowed on there without parental supervision! I don't know how I got out unscathed. Dressing up my avatar in cool goth clothes was my main focus, anyway.

Movie Star Planet
-
I played this game only once at a friend's house and it was so uninteresting and unappealing to me! Sorry.
-
19
Nickelodeon.com (Pictured: Wow Wow Wubbzy's Amazing Adventure)
-
Out of the “big three” TV networks for kids, Nickelodeon had the worst games. However, this Wow Wow Wubbzy game, which was, by the way, on the Nick Jr website, had no business being as good or difficult as it was.

Poptropika
-
I was a little too old for this when it started, but the graphics put me off, even as a kid.
